Stella St. Clair

Stella (Torgerson) St. Clair, 101, passed away Saturday, June 6, 2015, at the Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital in Glasgow, Mont.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 10, from 4-7 p.m. at Bell Mortuary. Services will be Thursday, June 11, at 11 a.m., also at Bell Mortuary in Glasgow, followed by interment at the Highland Cemetery, followed by a luncheon at the Glasgow VFW.

She was born Dec. 4, 1913, to Mikal and Bergit Torgerson in Hatton, N.D. She grew up in a family with nine siblings in the Grain community, north of Nashua. She loved being outdoors and helping her father farm. She loved every craft imaginable, dancing, exercising, cooking and baking everything, especially Norwegian foods.

She married Russell Edward St. Clair and they spent 33 years together until his passing on March 28, 1965. She was an excellent homemaker, worked as a bookkeeper and in the jewelry business for St. Clair Jewelry. She was a member of Eastern Star and numerous other civic activities in her community.

Preceding her in death are nine siblings, and three spouses.

Survivors include one son, Charles St. Clair of Glasgow; one daughter, Nina Wines and her husband, Jake, of Helena; six grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
