Lola Pyle

Lola (Penner) Pyle, 91, a daughter of Henry and Mary Penner, was born in Dallas, Ore., on Dec. 12, 1923. Her parents and family later moved to Larslan, Mont., where they lived on a wheat farm.

Lola graduated from Glasgow High School in 1942. Thereafter, she was employed as an office manager/nurse for a medical practice in Glasgow. During this time, she met David Pyle, (nephew to Dr. Minnick, pioneer physician from the homestead era in Saco). She and David were later married in 1951 in Bristol, Tenn. After their marriage, they lived primarily in Tacoma, Wash., and in San Diego, Calif., areas where her husband was engaged in marine electronics.

In recent years she had resided with her daughter in Bozeman. She passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2014, at the Gallatin Rest Home in Bozeman.

She will be remembered as a warm, meticulous person both in appearance and as a hostess, reflecting Christian values. Guests were always welcome in her home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David Pyle, in November 1994; and one sister, Clara Unruh, in March 2012.

Survivors include one brother, Herb Penner and his wife, Verna, of Glasgow; one daughter, Diane Purcell and her husband Dave, of Bozeman; and one son, Dan Pyle of West Hollywood, Calif.
