Ice Dawg Squirts Come Up Huge In Havre

The Ice Dawg Squirts traveled to Havre for a pair of games this weekend. Leading up to the games there was both excitement and nervousness for the five returning and eight new Squirts.

The first period was hectic as they worked to establish rhythm.

Colter Barnett started the scoring in the first, adding another short handed goal on a penalty kill. By the end of that period both goals would be answered by Havre tying it up.

Trevor Dulaney hit the back of the net for his first Squirt goal. Barnett would quickly add another for the hat trick.

The Ice Dawgs gained control of the ice and the scoring would continue on another goal from Dulaney, assisted by Zevin Kummerfeldt, Peyton Hubbard and Dylan Hlad.

Dulaney would complete his hat trick in the second period giving the Dawgs a solid lead.

Peyton Smith saw his first goal come in the third period off the wrap around pass from Barnett.

With Michael Hoyer showing great skills between the pipes, making 17 saves, the Ice Dawgs defeated Havre 7-3.

Game two started slow and even matched for the first 12 minutes. Dulaney would start the scoring for the Dawgs with Barnett quickly adding another.

The defensemen of Hoyer, Lex Fairclough, Tatum Hansen and Alex Huber began to key in on their positions making it tough for Havre to break through.

The offense of Aidin Wilkowski, Hlad, Kummerfeldt, Ava Lloyd and Emma Whitmer would work together, gaining control up top.

Action packed scoring in the second secured the lead as Barnett put in two and Dulaney added another. Hoyer put one in off the Barnett assist. Dulaney added another off of Wilkowski's assist. Barnett would add another as time ran out.

Jack Cornwell showed amazing control and confidence in the net as he made 10 saves for the 8-2 win.

The Ice Dawgs gained control and established fantastic teamwork in that final period of the game. This type of teamwork will lead to great things in the future for this Squirt team.
