John David Egosque

Our Heavenly Father wrapped his loving arms around our wonderful husband, father and grandfather, John David Egosque, on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2014. John passed away at the Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital in Glasgow after a long struggle with numerous health issues that he had been fighting with for many years. He was 88 years young.

A vigil service will be recited Thursday, Oct. 9, from 5-7 p.m. at the Bell Chapel in Glasgow.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 10, at 11 a.m. at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Nashua, followed by interment in the Highland Cemetery in Glasgow.

He was born on March 6, 1926, in Jordan, Mont., to Barney and Florence (Ingalls) Egosque. He attended a country school in Garfield County. In 1950 he married the love of his life, Arlene Stohl.

He worked numerous jobs in his life from construction, MDU, the Nashua School District and retired from the Corps of Engineers as a heavy equipment operator in 1992.

He spent 40 years of his life serving the town of Nashua: 11 years as the mayor and the other 29 years on the Nashua City Council. After his retirement from the Corps of Engineers, he and Arlene traveled on numerous bus trips which took them to every state except for Hawaii and Alaska.

He was a very dedicated and loving father and husband. He finally decided to have his sister ask Arlene out for a date 66 years ago and married her. They celebrated 64 years of marriage in August 2014, and they made a perfect loving couple.

He loved his one and only daughter, Pam, with all his heart. He loved and was so proud of his wonderful grandchildren, Danielle Bilbruck of Denver, Colo., Tyler Bilbruck of Custer, S.D., and his soon-to-be new step-grandson, Brody Storm, also of Custer. He also very much loved his soon-to-be son-in-law, Jeff Storm. John loved all of his family, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

John not only enjoyed his family, but also loved playing cards, gardening, fishing, hunting and horseshoes. He had a wonderful sense of humor that touched everyone. He always taught his daughter, Pam, and his grandchildren to "smile" through good and bad. He brought a smile to everyone's face.

John will be dearly missed by his family, but we know now he is at peace.

He was preceded in his passing by two brothers, Philip "Leo" and Russell "Gene;" and one sister, Mildred "Milly."

Survivors include his wife, Arlene, of Nashua; one daughter, Pam and her fiance, Jeff Storm, of Custer, S.D .; one granddaughter, Danielle Bilbruck, and her significant other, Joe Collins, of Denver, Colo .; one grandson, Tyler Bilbruck and his fiancé, Sam Coenen; one step-grandson to be, Brody Storm, of Custer; one sister, Geraldine Crusch and her husband, Gerry, of Polson; and one brother, Donald "Donnie" Egosque of Miles City.
