James Finley Bow

James Finley "Jim" Bow, 77, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend, passed away peacefully on Aug. 7, 2014, at the Riverstone Hospice Center at Billings, Mont.

Vigil Services will be recited Wednesday, Aug. 13, at 7 p.m. at the Silver Wolf Casino in Wolf Point and Memorial Services are Thursday, Aug. 14, at 10 a.m. at the Silver Wolf Casino with interment in the King Cemetery in Wolf Point.

He was born Aug. 19, 1936, at Poplar, a son of Joseph Bow and Victoria Redwood. He was raised in the Wolf Point and Poplar communities of the Fort Peck Reservation.

He married Judy L. Sugg on Feb. 2, 1971, in Warm Springs, Ore. They had one son, William J. Bow, Sr.

He was a mechanic his whole life and later decided to attend classes at Fort Peck Community College where he earned an associate's degree in automotive technology. He applied those newly acquired skills to many vehicles. He could be depended upon to fix a vehicle when others couldn't. He also received a degree in biology from Eastern Montana College.

Working on cars, pickups, and most anything with a motor was his true passion in life and he excelled in this area. He was also a champion pool player in his younger years and always enjoyed this pastime playing on the local pool leagues. Playing bingo was another pastime, most likely his favorite. You could always count on getting a smile and laugh from Jim at the Silver Wolf Casino as he and Judy sat in their favorite spot.

He and Judy would travel to Hawaii and Washington State to visit family and friends, and of course, to play bingo. Many bingo daubers were brought back to the Fort Peck Reservation as souvenirs. Making people smile and laugh was important to him, and being around him made people feel good.

He could be depended upon to help others in their time of need and would offer to help on a moment's notice at any time. The small things in life mattered so much to him, especially spending time with his two beloved grandsons, TJ and Jack, teaching them life skills and sharing his love of the Lord and reading the Bible daily with them.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Bow and Victoria Redwood.

Survivors include one brother, Pete Delorme, of Manitoba, Canada; his wife, Judy; son William J. Bow, Sr., of Wolf Point; one daughter, Misty Sugg of Glasgow; two grandsons, Treyton James "TJ" Bow and William Jack Bow Jr.; and special daughter-in-law, Regina "Gina" Bow, all of Wolf Point.
