Flaten Named GHS V.P

Will Oversee Activities And Transportation

The hiring of Glasgow native Brenner Flaten for the position of GHS V.P., Activities Director and Transportation Director was confirmed at the Glasgow School Board meeting on July 9.

After the final step in the hiring process, Flaten had yet to come down from the excitement of his new job.

“It really hasn’t worn off yet,” said Flaten. “I’m pretty excited about the opportunity in front of me.”

Since being hired, Flaten has had conversations with Superintendent Bob Connors and said that Connors will be a great individual to work with.

Flaten’s contract is slated to start at the beginning of August, but he pointed out that there are things that need his attention right away.

“Being my first year on the job, I need to go in and learn right away before my contract even starts,” said Flaten. “I don’t want to be completely dark on anything so I’m just doing it to be prepared.”

Flaten said that as the school year begins and he gets his feet under him in his new role, he would like to sit down with the coaches of GHS and establish a line of communication with them.

“Communication is going to be something that is very important at this position,” Flaten said. “I want my coaches and everyone for that matter to be comfortable with coming to me. I know a lot of people at the high school and they know me, so opening that line won’t be difficult.”

Flaten’s contract will begin the week of August 4.
