Leona Blanche Giese

Leona Blanche (Christiansen) Giese of Billings, formerly of Hinsdale, 82, peacefully passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2014.

She was born on Oct. 10, 1931, in Voltaire, N.D., to Andras Gustov and Jennie (Bittner) Christiansen.

In 1949, she married Reuben Giese. They had five children and were married for 65 years.

She loved to play bingo and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her husband, Reuben Giese; one brother, Henry Christiansen; three sons, Alvin, Norman and Leon; and two daughters, Shirley Baertlein and Sheila Hoerster; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and she took care of many foster children.

A memorial service was held in Billings with her immediate family. She will be resting in Hinsdale, next to her mother and siblings.
