Cheers, Independence Day 1906

In this photo taken in 1906, bartenders Mike Allen and John Purcell are possibly helping the unidentified men toast to Independence Day at the Coleville Hotel. Purcell came out to homestead in the area after he was told by Kid Curry of the Wild Bunch that a young man of 19 should not be tending bar. He continued tending bar and eventually convinced a young woman who was passing through to stay and cook for the Coleman Hotel in 1907. Her name was Mary Hermansen. They married in 1916.
