Reds 9-0 After Sweeping Glendive

The Reds swept a four-game series against Glendive this past weekend.

The action started off in Glendive with the Reds taking the first game by the score of 4-2. The game was knotted at two in the top of the seventh before Glasgow broke the tie with two in the inning to secure the victory. Jake Kolstad went 2-4 while Gage Legare added a 2B and RBI. Glasgow pitcher Jonathan Koessl went all seven innings while only allowing three hits and two runs.

The second game was another close fought battle as the Reds squeaked by again with a 3-2 victory. The Reds had only one multi-hit performance in the opening game coming from Jake Kolstad. RBIs by Jonathan Koessl and Keil Krumwiede proved to be enough with the added run coming off of a Glendive error to give Glasgow the win.

As the action returned to Glasgow on Monday, it was more of the same for the Reds. Glasgow won each game easily by the scores of 11-1 and 13-3.

In the first game, Glasgow jumped out to a huge lead thanks to a big bottom of the third in which the Reds scored six times.

The scoring didn’t stop there for Glasgow as they continued to pile up the runs with one in the fifth inning and four more in the sixth.

Dylan Guttenberg had a nice day at the plate for Glasgow going 3-4 with two runs and four RBIs. Blake Mattfeldt contributed two RBIs of his own as the Reds racked up nine hits on the afternoon.

In the night cap, it was more of the same offensive production from the Reds.

Glasgow scored four runs in three different innings and coasted to another easy win. Jason Thibault went 2-4 with two runs and while Gage Legare, Chase Fossum and Dylan Guttenberg all added two-hit games of their own. Fossum also contributed four RBIs to his effort at the dish.

Glasgow is now 9-0 on the season and will face the Tri County Cardinals on Friday in Havre.
