Milfred Arlie Maurseth

Milfred Arlie Maurseth, 87, passed away May 8, 2014, in Falkirk, Scotland. With his wife at his side, he died peacefully after a short illness.

He grew up in Nashua, where he completed high school and met and married Elizabeth "Betty" Holder in 1949.

He served his country in the Army, and returned home to Montana to begin a career as a heavy diesel equipment mechanic, and alongside his wife, Betty, began raising their six children. When he passed away, he had been retired for several years.

His wife, Betty, passed away in 1998. A few years later, he was blessed to meet and marry a lovely Scottish woman, Helen, who became his wife in 2001. They maintained homes in Yuma, Ariz., and Falkirk, Scotland, traveling between these homes each year.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; one brother, Don; and one sister, Dorothy Snyder.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Maurseth; two sisters, Mildred Nickels of Nashua and Mary Ann Thompson of Alabama; six children, Theresa Roumonada, Jerome Maurseth, Debra Ishii, Dennis Maurseth, Carolyn Maurseth and Marilyn Bechard; may grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held in Falkirk on May 16. In honor of his request, he was cremated and his ashes will be interned at Glacier Memorial Gardens in Kalispell at a later date.
