Hinsdale, Nashua Excel At 3C

Glasgow High Open Gym

Open gym for girls basketball will be Monday mornings at 10-11:15a.m. and Thursday nights from 6-7:15 p.m. There may be some variability. Volleyball will have their open gym sessions this summer on Mondays from 7:30-9 p.m. and Wednesdays from 5:30-7 p.m. at Glasgow High starting Monday, June 9.

Glasgow Reds

The Reds B team lost 8-7 against Havre. Glasgow went into the bottom of the sixth tied until they gave up the go ahead run. Havre recorded the final three outs in the seventh to survive.Lane Proventher led the way for the Reds with two hits including a double.

The Reds A team won 13-1 over Havre. Johnny Koessl pitched 4 IP and Sam Schultz recorded the win in relief. Koessl was also 3-4 at the dish.

Up next for the Reds is a tournament in Sidney on Memorial Day. Glasgow will play Glendive at noon and Colstrip at 2 p.m.

The Reds are trying to rescheudle a game against Sidney on May 25. The scheduling conflict is due to Glasgow having its graduation that day and the inavailability of players for the Reds.

District 3C Track Results

The Hinsdale and Nashua Track and Field teams had an impressive showing at the District 3C track meet last Thursday.

For the boys, Hinsdale finished in first place with a score of 158, while Nashua came in third at 112. Hinsdale completed a clean sweep in the top three for javelin as Wyatt Pattison, Cache Younkin and Dallas Capdeville took home first, second and third.

In the running events, Younkin and Pattison finished first and second in the 300 meter hurdles while Brett Johnson came in third. Nashua’s Lane Nickels and Ryan Padden were at it again on the track. Padden finished first in the 200 and Nickels finished first in the 400, 800 and 1,600.

Hinsdale’s Bethany Lacock finished first in the pole vault, triple jump and high jump. For Nashua, Faith Keys saw similar success as she placed first in the javelin, discus and shot put.

The top eight competitors in each event qualified for the Divisional meet in Wolf Point this Thursday. The meet will begin at 10 a.m.

Scotties Show Class

Colstrip catcher Alex Rootes was injured badly on a collision at the plate trying to score against Glasgow.

Prior to the start of the second game, five Glasgow players walked to the car that Alex Rootes was in and presented her with a card and the basket of goodies and a heartfelt wish for her recovery.
