Amanda Wall

Amanda Marie Toews Wall passed away May 16 at Valley View Home of natural causes. She was born May 19, 1924, to Rev. Jacob J and Marie (Friesen) Toews. She was the sixth of eight children. Amanda was brought up in a loving Christian home.

Amanda attended Star and Todd Lake elementary schools, Lustre Bible School, and high school in Glasgow. She attended Northeast Montana College at Havre and worked at Ben Franklin in Glasgow.

On June 22, 1948, Amanda married Irvin Wall. They farmed in the Lustre community and raised three boys, Larry, Lyle and Harvey. Amanda enjoyed gardening, record keeping, quilting, being involved in the church women's ministry, teaching Sunday School and being an AWANA leader. She was a good cook and enjoyed her children and grandchildren. She and Irvin made and sold Montana agate jewelry as well as Bosch mixers.

Amanda's loving husband passed away in 1995, and in 1998 she moved to Glasgow, where she lived in her own apartment, Nemont Manor, Prairie Ridge Village, and, finally, Valley View Home.

She struggled with Parkinson's disease and back problems in later years, did as much as possible. She was a great inspiration to others as she led Bible studies and always had a word of encouragement.

Preceding Amanda in death were her parents, husband Irvin, baby sister Linda and baby brother Leonard, infant son Benny and infant twin daughters, granddaughter Nadine Wall, great-granddaughter Amanda Joy Marottek, brothers Roland, Harold, and Raymond, and sister Rosella Toews.

Amanda is survived by her sister Margie Reimche of Harvey, N.D., sons Larry (Connie) of Batavia, Illinois, Lyle (Carla) of Lustre, .and Harvey (Karen) of Glasgow. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Ryan (Laura), Stephanie (Charles), Kimberly (Justyn), Aaron, Michael (Alma), Jackie, Kyla, Jory, and 11 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Glasgow Evangelical Church kitchen fund or Lustre EMB Church.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 27 at the Glasgow Evangelical Church with Pastor Jay Ashbaucher officiating, and a lunch will follow. Committal will be at 2:30 p.m. at EMB Church in Lustre with Pastor John Skillman officiating.
