Hinsdale Track Keeps Trucking

The Nashua Invitational track and field meet was held last week in Wolf Point and the Hinsdale Raider girls did well taking home a fifth place finish.

Leading the way for the ladies was Bethany Lacock winning the high jump (4-10); the 100-meter (13.3); 100-meter hurdles (17); the triple jump (32-9) and the long jump (14-3). Just another day at the races for this young lady.

Delaney Beil won fourth in the 100 hurdles (19.4) Courtney Capdeville took a sixth place (22) in the same event.

For the boys, speedster Pablo Pascual was under the weather and didn’t compete in anything but the 400 relay. In fact, being prom night the whole boys team decided to just do the shot put, discus, javelin and the 400 relay.

Brett Johnson took a second place (5:20.6) in the 1,600 just nine seconds behind Dodson’s Nick Bear (5:11.6).

Lukas Johnson won first in the discus (105-4) and took second in the shot put (37-11.5).

Dallas Capdeville, still on the mend from staph and pneumonia among other maladies which gave him a two week vacation in the Billings hospital just after the divisional basketball tourney, took fifth in the shot put (34-8) and fourth in the discus (98-5) just ahead of teammate Val Robert (76-9).

Wyatt Pattison added some team points taking second place in the javelin with a toss of (121-7).

The combination of Pablo Pascual, Valentin Robert, Brett Johnson and Dallas Capdeville ran for a second place in the 400 relay and the Hinsdale Raiders finished sixth in team.

The top ten meet is coming up soon as are the district and divisional meets. We can all keep our collective fingers crossed and hope for good weather.

That’s it for now folks. Thanks for listening.
