Glasgow Bats Come Alive In Opener

Timely Hitting And Miles City Miscues Allow Scotties To Roll

With a new season underway, the Glasgow Scottie softball team wasted little time to continue the type of play that they have been known for the past few seasons.

The Scotties opened up the season against Miles City on April 10 with an impressive 7-1 victory.

Shyla Bergtoll got the win for Glasgow going five innings and allowing only one hit while recording five strikeouts. The lone sore spot on her stat line is the four walks she allowed, but as the season progresses, Bergtoll should not have many more games with that amount of walks.

Wrapping up the final two innings for the Scotties was Tyra Johnson. In those innings, Johnson allowed only one earned run and one hit while striking out four batters of her own.

The Scotties got the scoring started in the first inning with a run and then tacked on two more in the third inning and another three runs in the fifth before add one final score in the top of the seventh.

Abbi Kolstad went 3-4 from the dish for Glasgow while Tyra Johnson went 4-4.

Ellen Walstad and Sage Sukut drove in a run each for Glasgow.

The Scotties will face Lewiston on Thursday before traveling to Sidney on April 21.
