Glasgow wrestling had a nice showing at Divisionals this past weekend as five Scotties qualified for the State meet coming up this weekend in Billings.

Kasey Seyfert, Cody King, Tony Kaiser, Kevin Frigon and Tanner Roness all qualified in their respective weight classes.

Glasgow head coach Trevor Newman is happy with the performance his wrestlers have given him all year and excited to see what can happen in Billings, especially with Cody King. King is coming off a stellar freshman year and is looking to do more damage this time around with his No. 2 seeding at the meet.

"Cody is by far our best worker in the room technique wise and been putting in a lot of extra time in after practice," said Newman. "The way he's been wrestling the last two weekends, I think he's going to surprise people at State."

Another wrestler making vast improvements with each passing tournament is Roness. Roness said that the beginning of the season was tough, but he was glad he decided to come out.

"I didn't really have any expectations coming into this season," Roness said. "I just wanted to help the team out as much as I could."

Newman said that Roness possesses a natural ability as an athlete and that the coaches threw everything they could at him.

The fact that Roness soaked it all in and is now in the State Meet said volumes about Roness' work ethic.

Roness said that with the State meet on the horizon, he's not putting too much pressure on himself because in his eyes, he has nothing to lose and hopes to get a couple of victories this weekend.
