Marlynn Kay Campbell

Marlynn Kay Campbell, 70, passed away on Monday, Feb. 3, 2014, in Bozeman, Mont.

She was born on Feb. 19, 1943, in Sheridan, Wyo., to Lynn and Marjorie Severance and graduated from Greybull High School in Greybull, Wyo.

She married and had two children. She attended Denver Vocational College to specialize in stenography and secretarial work. The family moved to Bozeman where her husband attended Montana State University, and she started working for the Bozeman ASCS office. She had their first child, Todd. She worked at the ASCS office until the family moved to Capitol, Mont. While living in Capitol, she had their second child, Kim.

The family then moved to Libby and spent about three years there before moving to Glasgow in 1973. She went to work for Langen & Langen Law offices and eventually followed Judge Langen to the Valley County Courthouse to be his secretary. While at the courthouse, she also worked for Probation Officer George Melikan. After Judge Langen resigned, she continued to work in the courthouse as the Deputy Clerk of Court until her retirement in February 2006. She dedicated over 20 years at the courthouse.

She enjoyed garage sales, Bunco and trips to Four Bears Casino with her good friends. She also volunteered at the Governor's Cup Walleye Tournament for many years. She affected everyone she encountered in a very positive manner and left everyone "feeling good!" She will be dearly missed by all.

Survivors include two children, Todd Campbell and his wife, Angela, of Nampa, Idaho, and Kim Smith and her husband, Charlie, of Bozeman; four grandchildren, Jake, Jordan, Joshua and Layne; one brother, Lynn Severance and his wife, Sharon, of Sheridan, Mont .; a step-mother, Esther Cover, of Sheridan, Wyo .; and a dear friend, Larry Roberton of Opheim.
