Battling Through Mid-Season Troubles

A Loss and Another Injury To An Already Thin Squad Doesn't Discourage The Scotties

The Glasgow girls basketball season isn't going the way any had hoped, but the Scotties tenacity and relentless continues to shine on the court.

The Scotties were dealt another blow in their latest 43-25 loss against Wolf Point when Megan Rasmusan left the game with an ankle injury.

Rasmusan was helped off the court to the relief of Glasgow and Wolf Point fans alike before Glasgow athletic trainers retrieved a pair of crutches to take Rasmusan in the locker room for further evaluation.

The Scotties are already without Khloe Krumwiede who head coach Emilee Morehouse is hoping can return in the near future from a broken foot.

The Scotties are back on the court this week against Glendive on Thursday.

The game against Wolf Point saw Glasgow having a hard time getting anything going on offense.

Glasgow's main problem throughout the season has been more of a mental block than executing a play or defensive set on the court.

The girls are extremely capable of playing basketball, they've proven that long ago. Their issue is that when they see a great scoring opportunity, their eyes get as wide as saucers and then they rush a shot or pass which causes the girls to lose any potential momentum they may have had.

This proved to be the case in Saturday's game against Wolf Point.

The girls couldn't buy a basket in the start which can prove frustrating to any basketball team.

The opportunities they did create on the court were done by nice defense and rebounding.

Once the Scotties had numbers going the other way, they would commit a turnover or rush a quick shot which could be attributed to their off shooting night and not by any means the way that Morehouse or her team prepares for each and every game.

The moments that these girls do shine on the court, it's fun to watch.

The Scotties just need to take a breath and relax when they create opportunities for themselve, because they definitely are capable of doing so.
