U13 Girls On A Roll

Glasgow Blanks Crawford City On Way To Victory

The Glasgow U-13 girls notch a victory in North Dakota. The girls traveled to Crosby, North Dakota Dec. 15 for a "spirited" match.

Six minutes into the first period, Baylie Chappell scored the first goal.

A Glasgow penalty sent Kennedy Schmidt away for 2 minutes followed by another penalty against Crosby's Shyann Ballew, sending her to the box as well.

Schmidt returned to the ice to score Glasgow's second goal with an assist from Jesi Kennedy.

Bailee Holstein scored the third goal early in the second period with an assist from Maddy Uphaus.

Glasgow received a team penalty, a bench minor, which translates to too many players on the ice.

During this penalty kill, Glasgow handled Crosby quite well with the remaining 4 players.

Toward the end of the second period, Baylie Chappell was sent to the box for for a contact penalty.

Chappell returned to the ice to help out Heidi Moon and Mykenzie Eliason with superb defense.

Zoey Crater, Rachel Billingsley and Amy Lawrence were all over Crosby from beginning to end with great passing and play set-up.

Kennedy Schmidt had a lofty goal towards the end of the second period with Jesi Kennedy supplying another goal only minutes later.

Glasgow had several break aways and shots throughout the game from Madison Knodel, Baylie Chappell and Emily Kolstad.

Nothing would stick until Lexi Pehlke handed Emily Kolstad an opportunity for her first goal late in the third period.

Sarah Law did a fantastic job of keeping Crosby's puck out of Glasgow's net with 13 saves en rout to a 6-0 victory over Crosby.

Overall, it was a great game. This group of U-13 girls has been together for about 3 years now and you can see the continuity.

With continued direction from Ken Schmidt and Kaitlin Cusker, these Glasgow girls are sure to have a bright future.
