Donna Mae Smith

Donna Mae (Hill) Smith, 77, died peacefully at her home in Tenino, Wash., on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013.

She was born to Marc and Ella Hill on Sept. 7, 1936, in Glasgow. She spent her childhood in the Glentana area. The family moved in 1949 to Glasgow, where she graduated from high school in 1954.

She attended Holy Name College for two years in Spokane, Wash. It was there that she met Robert G. Smith. They were married on June 30, 1956, in Glasgow. They had six children.

Her husband was a career man in the U.S. Air Force and together they traveled to England, UK, Mississippi, Texas and Florida.

She and her children spent one year living in Glasgow while her husband was stationed in Guam. In 1972 they moved to Tenino. In 1973 she started working for a local bank and retired in 1997.

She had many hobbies, some of which included crossword puzzles, sewing and crocheting.

She was also a big Mariners and Seahawks fan.

She was preceded in death by her husband; two sons, Jeffrey Smith and Donald Smith; and one sister, Carol.

Survivors include one son, Robert J. Smith; three daughters, Donna K. Smith, Sheryl Kambich and her husband, Tom, and Paula Smith and her husband, Ab; two sisters, Darlene Riggin-Stratton of Nashua and Bonnie Hansen of Havre; and two brothers, James Hill of Helena and Robert Hill of Kimball, Neb.

Funeral Mass was held at St. Peters Catholic Church on Oct. 22, in Tenino.
