Helen E. Toews

Helen E. Toews, 90, died Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013, at Parkside Homes in Hillsboro, Kan.

She was born Nov. 20, 1922, to Jacob and Eva (Sawatzky) Rempel in Jansen, Neb.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Toews, in 2004; a grandchild; six brothers, Andrew, Frank, Albert, Henry, Abe and Harry; three sisters, Frieda Ewert, Alma Wiens and Margaret Harder.

Survivors include one son, Rev. Steve Toews, and his wife, Deborah, of Wichita, Kan .; two daughters, Lynette Toews of Denver, Colo., Carol Harrison and her husband, Dan, of Wichita; two sisters, Viola Harper of Roca, Neb., and Marcella Skinner of Casper; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Celebration services were held Tuesday, Oct. 29, at Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church, officiated by Rev. Steve Toews.
