Hockey Weekend In Glasgow

American West Hockey League Team To Coach Camp At Event Center

The Hi-Line Youth Hockey Team will sponsor a hockey camp led by the Glacier Nationals from Nov. 1 through 3 at the Valley Event Center.

The Glacier Nationals are a Junior A Tier III hockey team operating within the American West Hockey League. Swedish professional head coach Joakim Falt, GM/assistant coach Butch Kowalka and goalie coach Josh Steel will be running the three-day camp.

The camp is open to all ages and skill levels and will focus on skill development, individual growth and team concepts, on and off the ice. With 25 Nationals players helping, the coach-to-player count should be very good and players should both expect and be prepared for individual instruction.

Coach Falt is in his 14th year coaching Junior A hockey. He played 10 years of professional hockey in Sweden and coached professionally for four seasons in Norway. Coach Kowalka was a national champion at both Midget AA and Tier II Junior with Compuware before playing defense at Ohio State University. Coach Steele was a professional goaltender in the ECHL, Atlantic City, after a college career at St. Lawrence University in upstate New York.

All three coaches bring a wealth of knowledge and personal experience to the ice for this camp. They are all Level 4 USA Hockey coaches working closely with the American Development Model (ADM) to get the maximum benefit for the players and parents. This camp will be fun, challenging and beneficial to any player wanting to improve their skills.
