Scottie Volleyball Goes Silver At Dickinson

And This Saturday They Go Pink – To Fight Cancer

Last weekend the girls’ volleyball team went to Dickinson, N.D., and competed in a 32 -team tournament.

On Friday the team went 1-2 – good enough to earn them a spot in the Silver bracket. The Scotties lost their first and third games, but won their second against Williston Trinity.

There were three brackets they could have been placed in for Saturday play: Gold, Silver and Bronze. The competition was tough with two of the four teams that the Scotties played in their pool on Friday advancing to the gold bracket.

The Scottie girls were placed in the Silver bracket on Saturday and were playing double elimination. The first game on Saturday they played, they had a distressing loss.

Their next game they played Hardin, which is a Class A school, and won. They would end up losing their next game and head home.

Coach Lori Dailey said, “The tournament provided a good midseason look at what the team needs to work on to keep their current district success going.”

The Scottie girls next travel to Malta on Thursday and play Wolf Point Wolves on Saturday. And on Saturday, the volleyball team is inviting everyone to attend and wear pink to their games.

Those in attendance can help Pizza Hut, Eugene's Pizza and the Scottie volleyball teams "be superheroes and knock out cancer."

Here's how. Wear pink to the games, buy a pink lei for $1 and buy a serve for a chance to win a pizza. Serves are $1 each and the pizzas are terrific. All proceeds will go to Relay for Life.

The Scotties will take on the Wolf Point Wolves C Squad at 1 p.m..

The JV plays at approximately 2:30, and the Varsity should take the floor around 3:30.
