Glasgow Swim Team Places Fourth At State, Wins Seven Event Championships

Seven event championships. A fourth place team finish. The Glasgow Kiwanis Swim Team made a nice, big splash at the Montana State Swim Meet.

As a team, the 32 Kiwanis Kids competing Aug. 3 and 4 at Sidney made good on their qualifying performances at the Eastern Divisionals in their home pool. The top five teams at State, in order, were Bitterroot, Sidney, Lewistown, Glasgow and Chinook.

Five Kiwanis swimmers were involved in the local club’s seven event championships.

The 13/14-year-old girls 200-meter freestyle relay team of Cara Goeke, Khloe Krumwiede, Jordan Kulczyk and DJ Rasmusan won in 2:06.

Krumwiede earned gold in three other events too, setting two federation and pool records along the way.

She won the 200-meter individual medley in 2:51.77, the 50-meter freestyle in a record 28.79, and the 100-meter freestyle in 1:04.11. She set the 100-meter freestyle record of 1:03.73 a preliminary race.
