Kevin Charles Newman

Kevin Charles Newman, 53, firstborn son of Clifford Cleveland and (Lavita) Mary Newman died unexpectedly from cardiac complications July 26, 2013, at his home in Frazer. He taught science at Frazer Public School in Frazer for the past five years among the people he loved.

He was born Dec. 17, 1959, in St. Louis, Mo. He served in the Army for 10 years. After his military career, he graduated from the University of Montana in Missoula. When he died, he was completing graduate studies in native plants and developing a computer app to catalog and archive his findings. He had a brilliant mind and was a life-time scholar.

Survivors include five children, James Harley Newman, Angelina Marie Newman, of the home, Brandy Dawn Newman of Springfield, Mo., Kevin Charles Newman, Jr. of Kansas City, Mo., and Jesse Adam Newman Lisby of Houston, Texas; his mother, Mary Newman, of Hollister, Mo.; two brothers, Keith and Kent Newman; three sisters, Mary Thornton, Joyce Sidfrid, and Gaye Lisby; three grand-children, Claudia, Kitiana and Thomas Newman; and 10 nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Sunday, Aug. 4, at 2 p.m. at the Frazer Community Hall in Frazer, followed by interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Frazer.

Bell Mortuary of Glasgow was in charge of arrangements.
