Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913

Tyrel Grey Shumway

Tyrel Grey Shumway, 21, died Thursday, July 11, 2013.

He was born Sept. 5, 1991 in Great Falls, Mont., to Diana Brown. Ronie and Linda Shumway named him and carried him out of the hospital the next day. He was adopted and Glasgow became home where he grew up with his older brother, Shane, and two older sisters, Kera and Kala.

He was a typical boy and enjoyed going fishing, hunting and participated in all of the youth activities that were offered in Glasgow. He made friends easily and had a great sense of humor.

A favorite teacher, Kathy Fuhrman, always had time to give him a hug

In high school he loved lifting weights, playing football, wrestling and having fun. It was important for him to enjoy himself and be around his friends.

During the summer before his junior year, he wrestled with Billings Skyview at the summer Disney Classic in Orlando, Fla. In May of his junior year, we found he had had a broken wrist, which needed to be re-broken and repaired with a metal plate and screws. His senior year made everyone proud of his accomplishments.

His family’s house was always full of great kids and they appreciate the great Facebook reads. Most of this would not have happened without great community support.

He bought a house and was engaged to Cami.

This summer he walked his birth mother, Diana, down the aisle when she and her husband renewed their wedding vows.

His family will miss the big teddy bear’s smile and his bigger heart. He’ll also be missed by his nieces, nephews, sisters, brothers, cousins, aunts, uncles, friends, neighbors, mothers, fathers and anyone else who may have been missed. He enjoyed you all.
