Valley County is one of the 49 counties who have chosen to not follow a directive from the administration of Gov. Greg Gianforte by scaling back their collections of a state-level school funding property tax. These 49 counties will levy 77.9 mills of school equalization tax for 2023, as opposed to the full 95 mills ordered by the Montana Department of Revenue. Daryl Wayne Toews was born to Harold and Lillian Toews on May 24, 1949, in Glasgow, Mont. He passed away at age 74 on Saturday, Sept. 30, 2023.
