The Glasgow Wrestling Club once again enjoyed an action-packed weekend with plenty of success! 43 Highlanders headed 70 miles east to participate in the Poplar Invitational on Saturday, while 24 wrestlers made the long westward trek to Butte to participate in the prestigous "Cyclops" event on Saturday and Sunday. Pearl Fisher (Carlson/Wagner/Ochsner) Nickels passed away of natural causes on Thursday, Feb. 8, 2024, in Glasgow, Mont., marking the end of a colorful life that included music, art, education, long friendships, and always livestock. In her 92 years, Pearl worked hard at whatever she set her mind to, but she never missed an opportunity to visit with friends and strangers alike. Robert "Bob" Sverre Jondahl, age 100, passed away Thursday, Jan. 11, 2024, at home near Minneapolis, Minn. There will be a private family service at a later date. Bob was born Nov. 25, 1923, in Glasgow, Mont., to Norwegian immigrants Sverre and Tomine Jondahl. In his youth he helped his parents in the Jondahl Bakery, but by high school you couldn't keep him away from the airport. Though Speech and Drama held their State competition a few weeks ago, the season hasn’t ended for Glasgow’s Gabe Proctor and Connor Whitmer. Robert "Bob" Henry Baillargeon, of Glasgow, Mont., passed away peacefully at Billings Clinic, in Billings, Mont., on Sunday, Jan. 28, 2024, at age 76. But because of the superintendent at that time leaving and a new superintendent coming in, the board voted to table the issue. The newest addition to the Valley County jail comes this month as the installation to a new cooler is completed.
