Representatives from First Community Bank Annie Capdeville and Kevin Hohlen presented the Glasgow Scottie Softball team with a check for $5,000 before the Scotties home game on April 30. The generous donation gives the team a solid start on its fundraising for a drop-down hitting net. The net will help the Scottie team get an earlier start to their season when weather impacts their practices. The check was presented to the senior members of this year's team, along with their coach Ryan Hartwell, underneath the scoreboard FCB sponsored. "There's a reason they are called First Community Bank," Hartwell enthused, while espousing on the generosity of the bank and all they do for the community and for sports. Capdeville explained that between the bank's president Sam Waters being "all about sports" and the extra money FCB has due to COVID-19 relief monies this year, the bank was eager to give back to the community and pleased they could help out the Scottie softball team. The donation gives the team a start on their goal, but they have a ways to go before they will be able to make the big ticket purchase.
