Montana’s COVID-19 numbers dropped last week with the long holiday weekend, with one day of reporting showing fewer than 400 cases. Health experts across the nation, however, are predicting a surge of new cases in the upcoming weeks as people return to normal routines from travel and holiday get-togethers without quarantining. The Glasgow High School Student Council members hosted the Remembrance Tree Lighting Ceremony which honors passed loved ones and those serving in the United States Military. Keevan Sibley welcomed guests and introduced Pastor Todd Wright who addressed the crowd. Students then read through the list of names of those remembered and honored by community members who purchased light bulbs for the trees in front of the museum. Robert "Jim" James Frueh passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, Nov. 26, 2020, in Glasgow, Mont. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Jim's life will be held in the summer of 2021 at a date to be determined. Jim was born on Jan. 21, 1969, in Libby, Mont. At age 4½, he was adopted into the family of Ed and Marci Frueh. Jim became the eldest of six adopted children, Bobbi Jean, Tony, Ann, Beth, and Byron. John "Jack" Delmar Lind, 72, of Malta, Mont., who retired from NorthWestern Energy (originally Montana Power Company), died at home on Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2020, after battling cancer for many years. Henrich "Henry" H Ortmann passed away on Saturday, Nov. 21, 2020, two days before his 82nd birthday. Henry was born on Nov. 23, 1938, to Herman Ortmann and Elizabeth (Redekopp) Ortmann who came to the Lustre community as homesteaders. He attended Star school, 1 mile west of the family homestead, for eight years with perfect attendance. Red and white. Black and blue. Those are the colors one might normally associate with a Glasgow Ice Dawgs hockey game. In this case, rather than bruises (though there were probably a fair amount of those also) the colors were for the jerseys worn by the four different lines who were on the ice Nov. 24 for a scrimmage.
