  • Now I Remember

    Gwen Cornwell, Remember When|Oct 30, 2013

It is so great to have readers call. I now know, and have committed to memory, the name of the grocery on 3rd Avenue North. It was the Northside Grocery, run by Lennie Bollinger. I am going to assume that it later moved to the current Dale Plumbing location and became part of Gordon's Foods. Sandy Laumeyer, Just A Thought|Oct 30, 2013

Sunday, following a dinner at church, one of my grandsons went over to the rotary dial phone that's in the church basement. Picking up the receiver, he asked, "How do you work this phone?" His question took me by surprise and for a moment, I couldn't quite believe he didn't know how to use the phone. Then I realized that he'd never seen anyone use such a phone.
