The Scotties bounced back from their loss against Malta in grand fashion, defeating the Wolf Point Wolves 58-7 on the road Oct. 22. The Glasgow Scottie volleyball team is headed into the District 2B tournament as the number one seed after posting a perfect 8-0 record in conference play for the third year running. Nashua's Alyssa Murdock was the lone Porcupine at the State Cross Country Meet in Missoula Oct. 23. The determined senior finished in 64th place, out of over 100 runners, and set a personal record at the most important meet of the year. Murdock finished the course in 26:36.72. The Frazer Bearcubs sent six runners to the State Cross Country meet in Missoula Oct. 23. Ty Fourstar and Anthony Jackson represented the Frazer boys team during the Class C boys race. Fourstar finished in 102nd place with a time of 27:15.27. Jackson ran a 29:10.16 and finished in 107th place. Beginner's luck was in full force last week for first time hunter Teagen Twitchell, 13, who on his first day picked off a 4X4. Teagen was joined by his father, Todd Twitchell, his little brother Tucker, and Allen and Tara Harrington. They spotted the buck after about four hours in the field. Nora Joann Beard went home to her Lord and Savior on October 13, 2021. She was hospitalized after a brain aneurysm and was surrounded by family when she rejoined her beloved husband. Joann was born to Ralph and Annalee in December 1940 in Chambersburg, PA. She married the love of her life, Barry Beard, in 1958. Together, they raised three children. Richard "Rick" A. Birkoski passed away surrounded by the love of his family and friends on Wednesday, October 13, 2021. Rick was born to Phyllis and Edmund Birkoski and was one of four brothers. He went to school in Glasgow, Mont. and, upon graduating, continued his education at Wyoming Tech receiving his certificate for diesel mechanics. Donald Raymond Lebsack, 86, of Kimball, died at home on Saturday, October 16, 2021. Donald was born on August 6, 1935, in Greeley, Colorado, to Raymond and Bertha (Urich) Lebsack. He went to school in Galeton, CO, and married Joyce Marie Jensen on March 31, 1954. Donald worked as a farmer until 1969. Then he worked at Grand Junction Sales and Service, and later at Zerbe Brothers in Glasgow, MT. Donald moved to Kimball after retiring in 1999. Dolores was born in Malta, Montana on March 6, 1930, to Louis and Bessie (Mummy) Hershman. Dolores married Louis Roy Edwards in Salinas, Ca on March 14, 1948 while Roy was enlisted.
