Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital (FMDH) has welcomed two new faces over the past few months in the Glasgow Clinic Specialty Care with the addition of Dr. Kevin Cahill as a general surgeon and Dr. William Meszaros as an orthopedic surgeon. Summer came a close when Glasgow students were welcomed back into the classroom on Aug. 22. Squeals of laughter came from the Irle School playground as kids joined friends they haven't seen since before summer began. Two new businesses have opened up downtown in the former Eternal Beauty Ink space at 530 2nd Ave. S., Elle Boutique and Tattoo’s by Sam. As promised, more Fair memories. It was heart breaking to see the lack of exhibits this year. When Homemaker Clubs were active in this area there were a lot of baking, canning, sewing, etc. exhibits. I do remember, back in the day, that many times exhibits were gathered at residences or businesses and members of clubs or businesses volunteered to take them to Glasgow. Karen (Inga) Shay, 91, of Bremerton, Wash., passed away Monday, Aug. 1, 2022. The cause of death was a traumatic brain injury from a fall. She is being cremated and her cremains will be buried in the family graveyard on her parents' homestead. Karen had been living independently and enjoying every day. The Hi-Line Hyzers Disc Golf Club out of Glasgow held their second PDGA sanctioned tournament at The Fortress Disc Golf Course (Fort Peck) on Saturday, Aug. 20. Marlyn Gloyne Orahood was born March 10, 1937, to Walter and Della (Emerson) Gloyne. She was the oldest of three children. Marlyn married Wesley Orahood March 28, 1958, after knowing him for 5 months and 5 days.
