The National Weather Service in Glasgow had a busy day last week as warnings were issued for a storm that ended up moving rapidly through Valley County. A hearing was set for Thursday, July 31, but District Judge Blair Jones signed off on a motion for summary judgement, dismissing the plaintiff's claims without prejudice and awarding attorney's fees and costs to Jeffrey Robertson. The Drug Task Force and Valley County Sheriff's Office produced a search warrant for two local residents in Glasgow on Friday, July 25. That searched turned up several charges and arrests. Sheriff Glen Meier said he couldn't elaborate on details that led officers to the residence, but he said that the investigation would continue. Hinsdale, like many other small villages and towns throughout Montana, is in a pickle. The infamous Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has warranted that the water being dumped into the Milk River from Hinsdale's sewage treatment facility is unfit to be dumped into the sanitary and sterile Milk River. The wastewater from sewage plants like Hinsdale's has been proven to be 10 times cleaner than the river it is being infused into. Some of them were bald, some had very short hair, some walked with canes but they were all heroes. Experience reigned supreme for the Glasgow Kiwanis Thunder swim team at the Divisional swim meet in Chinook this past weekend. The Thunder took 28 swimmers with them to the meet and 22 of those advanced to the finals of the meet and qualified for the State swim meet that will be held in Conrad this weekend. The Glasgow 12U baseball team played in the Pacific Northwest Regionals in Kalispell late last week and although the outcome wasn’t one fans had hoped for, the team left the community proud nonetheless.
