The Valley County Pool Campaign and the Busted Knuckle Brewery have teamed up to help raise funds for obtaining a new Valley County community pool. On Thursday, July 25, the brewery will be hosting a Pool Campaign Brews for a Cause from 5 to 8 p.m. A dinner of traveling tacos, in addition to blue wave cotton candy and Busted Knuckle beer-inspired cupcakes will be served. This past week I've spent a fair amount of time tidying up in and around the garden. I have installed a new battery in my solar powered electric fence, so I don't need weeds around the perimeter touching the wires and draining the power from that battery. Even though I've installed weed block cloth on three sides, the weeds beyond that cloth will get tall enough for the wind to blow them into the fence. It was early Friday morning, July 12, and 200 boats had filled the waters of the Fort Peck Marina waiting for their wave to get flagged out. The skies were clear and the winds were slight as the cannon sounded the official start of the tournament and a team of volunteers waved the boats on by. The Glasgow Reds traveled to Laurel on July 9 to play a double-header against the Laurel Dodgers. With a home-field advantage, the Dodgers swept the Reds, 5 to 2 in the first game and 19 to 0 in the second game. After taking a week off to celebrate Independence Day, the Glasgow Kiwanis Swim Team was back at it in competition in Lewistown this past weekend, July 13 and 14. The Glasgow Reds wrapped up their regular season at the First National Tournament in Williston this past weekend, July 12 through July 14. Their first game on July 12 ended in a tie after six innings against the Bismarck 15’s.
