    The sun was high. The wind was low. Overall, it was a beautiful day for the Glasgow Area Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture's Annual Longest Dam Race.     The Glasgow City Council has voted to accept candidates for the position of police chief from both within and without the department. Glasgow Police Department Capt. Tyler Edwards currently is assigned the role of interim police chief, with Sgt. Robert Weber as assistant chief.     A brushfire threatening a Glasgow neighborhood was extinguished Monday evening before any structures were damaged. The fire, located in the coulee in Northern Heights, also known as Honda Hills, was reported to emergency dispatch at 7:54 p.m. About a dozen firefighters with the Glasgow Fire Department and the Long Run Fire Department responded to the blaze.     The Glasgow Reds team split their games, going 3-3, over the past week. Their overall record now stands split also, 10-10. The Reds' first pair of games was on Wednesday in Laurel where they dropped both games.The Dodgers won 7-5 and 11-8.
