    Gwen Cornwell|Jun 22, 2022

As promised, memories of June weddings or mostly any wedding of the past. Do you remember when every bride to be made a trip to the store to select a china, crystal and silverware pattern of her choice? I may not remember correctly but it seems to me that these items where chosen at the local jewelry stores. Years have passed and all you need to do is browse Facebook or Glasgow Online to know how popular those items are now. Nobody wants grandma’s treasures, and I am sure the different brand names of China dishes means very little to most of u...

  • A Note From Andy Meyers, Artistic Director at Fort Peck Summer Theatre

    Jun 22, 2022

Dear Editor, Thank you for all your support as we embark on our 53rd season! We are in the final week of tetris for our Rep schedule: rehearsing & building three shows all at once, over a three-week period. I wanted to address a little hiccup in the branding for our programming: The Complete History of America (abridged), written by the (in)famous trio...

  • Maintenance

    Mary Honrud, For the Courier|Jun 22, 2022

We're far enough into the gardening season that only maintenance is needed. Most of that maintenance is boring: mowing, weeding, and watering. The rain helps a lot, but then it is followed by too much wind, which takes the moisture right back out of everything. (It also brings in another maintenance chore: picking up the downed twigs, destroyed bird nests, and tree limbs torn off the trees that litter the mowing surfaces). And now the heat is here. I know it's needed, but it also restricts my...

  • One Careful Owner

    Richard Noble, For the Courier|Jun 22, 2022

Technology is great, but it can be expensive to keep up with. It’s also fair that a lot of us as consumers simply don’t need the latest and greatest model of any given electronics; a 2021 laptop is still going to be refreshingly zippy compared to your classic from 2012. The average user browsing the web or running Microsoft Office doesn’t really benefit from that 10% performance boost between model years. What then if there was a cheaper way of getting like-new technology at a discount rate? Something which had most of the benefits of buyin...

  • Glasgow Reds Alumni Game

    Gwendolyne Honrud, The Courier|Jun 22, 2022

Past, present and future Reds baseball players hit Bill Connors Field June 18 during the Glasgow High School All-Class Reunion. Lacking the players necessary to field two full teams – and who can blame an alumnus for avoiding the sun Saturday? - alumni recruited some current Reds players as well as up-and-coming ballers to fill in. Complete with safety equipment for those who had spent a bit of time away from the diamonds, the players hit the field to the delight of the crowd and proved that s...
