While Congressman Steve Daines stopped in several towns in Northeastern Montana to focus on economics and energy, he focused half of his visit to Glasgow on issues with the city's levee issue. A local man was in a severe car accident at approximately 7 a.m. on Saturday, May 17, that has left him in serious condition at St. Vincent's in Billings. Phillip Dale Smoker Jr., 35, of Frazer was on Firemoon Road, about a mile north of BIA Route 1, when his car went into a skid and entered the right ditch. His 1998 Chevy Cavalier went airborne and through a fence and began to tumble end over end. Somewhere along the path Smoker was ejected from the vehicle. The exact time of the accident is unknown. Stella Marie Fauth, 81, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 14, 2014, surrounded by her family at the Hi-Line Retirement Center in Malta. She was born on Jan. 2, 1933, at her parent's home in Hinsdale, Mont., to Oliver and Fannie Bucher. Walter Melford Romo, 102, a retired farmer, passed away May 16, 2014, at the Country Home. He was born on the family farm at Lakeside, Mont., between Bainville and Snowden, on Nov. 26, 1911, to Oscar and Sadie (Algren) Romo. He spent his early years making a mark in eastern Montana. These girls are from the Propper family that settled in the Avondale area in 1913. Claude Propper came and filed his claim in 1914. He married Demetries Williams in 1915 in Michigan and brought her back to Montana to make their home. They lived on the farm until 1933 and had three daughters, Thara, Maza and Delores. After 1933, they moved to Glasgow and farmed during the summer months until 1949, when they sold the farm to Warren Thornton.... Full story

Donnie Bailey and Steve Fauth competed at the State Special Olympics Games in Billings. On Wednesday morning they bowled at 8 a.m. Steve got a fourth place ribbon in his division and Donnie got a fifth place ribbon in his division.
