Hinsdale has been without natural gas services since March 19 after multiple leaks were reported and detected in the community raising concerns that the problem was widespread and required the company to halt services. As of March 22, 2021, Valley County had 13 active COVID-19 cases with 871 recovered persons. The county reported 10 new cases between March 9 and 17. Seven of the new cases were in the 60-69 age range with one each in age less than 10, 40-49 and 70-79. Cases were split evenly between males and females. The Valley County Health Department reported seven new cases in the period between March 17 and 22. The US Department of Veteran Affairs vaccinated 94 area veterans on March 11 adding to the hundreds of county residents who have received the vaccine through various programs. The effort is being funded and led by the VA to assist with the vaccination effort across the country. August 31, 1954 – March 13, 2021 Our beloved brother Dean, age 66, passed from this earth at Lakeview Lodge in Redwood City, California under the care of VITAS Hospice. Myrtle Marie Mullin, affectionately known as "REE", passed away March 17, 2021, at the age of 91 years old at the Valley View Nursing Home in Glasgow, Mont. Ree was born January 5, 1930 in Yates Center, Kan. to Martin and Myrtle Lake, she was the eldest of six children. Dorothy Mae Callahan passed away March 19, 2021, in Dickinson, N.D. She was born to Harry and Lottie Ellen Frank on October 26, 1926, in Norwich, N.D. She attended Trinity Hospital School of Nursing, graduating as a Registered Nurse in 1948. On March 12, 1948, Dorothy married Robert Lawrence Callahan. They lived in Minot and Williston. Susan Schultz was born September 26, 1949 in Glasgow, MT, to John and Maggie Eastman, and passed away peacefully at her home in Columbus March 5, 2021. Her school years were spent as a Glasgow Scottie. Cosmetology school in Great Falls led to her meeting a young Air Force Staff Sergeant, Richard Schultz, and they were wed in 1970. The seeds for this year’s garden have been purchased. The seed catalogs were of no help - I’ve continued to ignore both the ones that came snail-mail and the daily barrage of emailed exhortations to have “the best garden ever” if only I’ll purchase their offerings. The Glasgow Wrestling Club made the trek to Kalispell for the 2021 State AAU Tournament this past weekend and brought home hardware. The boys team took top spot in the medium team division while the girls claimed second place, coming in a mere half point behind the Silver Bow Wrestling Club out of Butte.
