We had planned to head to the Outpost Cafe in Opheim on Valentine’s Day for their steak and shrimp special. Mother Nature intervened, disrupting our plans with a short but intense snowstorm. Our home is only about 50 yards from the highway, but in the midst of this mini-blizzard that highway disappeared into a wall of white. The Glasgow City-County Library (GCCL) has received numerous donations of vintage books over the years and the Valley County Friends of the Library would like to find new owners to experience these unique stories. Keithe "Thor" R. Thorson died unexpectedly in his home Sunday, February 9, 2020. Keithe was a vibrant 72 years old. Darlene "Toots" Mae Murch, 82, of Nashua, Mont., passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2020, at Valley View Home in Glasgow, Mont. Services are being planned for sometime this summer. Toots was born June 11, 1937, in Albert Lea, Minn., to Clifford and Jessie (Helland) Olson. Gary Allen Turner, 66, died of complications following heart surgery at Kalispell Regional Medical Center, in Kalispell, Mont., on Friday, Jan. 10, 2020. He went home to be with our Lord, Jesus Christ - soaring like an eagle. Gary was born on Oct. 2, 1953, in Wolf Point, Mont. He attended and graduated high school in Nashua, Mont., in 1972. It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend, Darlene Marie (Brenden) Ramsbacher. She passed away at St. Patrick Hospital, in Missoula, Mont., on Monday, Feb. 3, 2020, at the age of 77. A celebration of life will be held this summer in Polson, Mont. Thomas "Tom" Albert Hickok, 87, of Glasgow, Mont., passed away on Monday, Feb. 10, 2020, at Valley View Nursing Home, in Glasgow. Tom was born in Saco, Mont., on Dec. 10, 1932, to Major B. and Sara B. (Kays) Hickok. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) reminds agricultural producers interested in the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) 2020 general signup to enroll by Feb. 28.
