BNSF Train Hits Vehicle On Nov. 14, at approximately 08:35 a.m., dispatch received a 911 call stating a BNSF train struck a vehicle at a crossing near mm 546 on US Highway 2. A single vehicle, with one occupant, was struck in the front passenger quarter sending the vehicle into a ravine on the south side of the tracks. The driver was transported to the hospital. Old Man Winter made an appearance over the past week, which reminded all of us what cold and snow is after a mild end to fall-like weather. A new record low was broken for Glasgow Airport on Nov. 10, when it hit -15 degrees Fahrenheit. This broke the previous record low of -13 degrees Fahrenheit that was set in 1911. In the Nov. 8, 2022 Mid-Term Election, a total of 3,278 registered voters made their voices heard, of the total 4,928 registered voters in the county, making this election a 67 percent voter turnout. When looking at the Valley County precinct breakdown, of the 1,062 total voters in Precinct 31, 689 people cast their ballots for a 65 percent turnout, Precinct 33 had a 68 percent turnout, 1,357 votes cast compared to the total registered voters of 2,000, and Precinct 34 has 1,232 votes cost of the total 1,866 voters with a 66 percent turnout....
In 2004, a group of teenagers started a goal of creating a skatepark in order to pursue their passions in the sport. A board was created, and with the assistance of parents and other involved community members, the park was created on the Fairgrounds property. In 2007 a concrete pad had been poured and ramps were installed. As these teenagers grew up and graduated from high school, the interest to maintain and upkeep the property weaned off, with the property becoming bygones of the past. As Montana’s food banks deal with record demand in the wake of soaring food costs and other everyday expenses, the Town Pump Charitable Foundation is matching $1 million to help raise $4 million during its annual fundraising campaign for food banks, including Valley County Emergency Food Bank in Glasgow. I saw in item on Facebook the other day that featured a roll of “caps,” wondering if anyone remembered what they were. After a two-year disruption, due to the pandemic, WE’RE BACK!!!! The 30th Annual Thanksgiving Day Dinner will be held Thursday, Nov. 24, at Glasgow Senior Citizens Center, located at 328 4th Street South. The American Red Cross urges blood donors to give now and help fight the potential impact of seasonal illnesses and a potentially severe flu season on the blood supply. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention predicts a serious spread of flu this year and is already reporting an early spike in cases in several states. Donald Darrell DeDobbeleer, 86, passed away Thursday, Nov. 10, 2022, at his daughter's home in Huntley, Mont. after a short battle with lung cancer. Donnie was born on June 1, 1936, in Glasgow, Mont., at the home of family friends, to James Roy and Helen (Czyzeski) DeDobbeleer. He was the third oldest of four siblings. The High School Ice Dawgs returned to the rink for the first time this season at home with two games against the Salmon (Idaho) Rapids.
