GWENDOLYNE HONRUD THE COURIER Valley County coronavirus cases continue to hold steady in the single digits as of press time. The state map shows Valley County with seven active cases as of Jan. 4. The last update from the Valley County Health Department on Dec. 29 showed eight active cases with 634 recovered cases and eight deaths. MARY HONRUD FOR THE COURIER While walking along foot paths towards the beach on Sanibel Island in Florida, I took note of the thick "vines" I thought were snaking their way up and around other trees. The sinuous way they formed geometric patterns as they encircled the other tree trunks was very eye-catching. The Glasgow Scottie girls basketball team dropped their home opener against the Malta M-ettes on Saturday night.
