Feb. 6, 2023, marks the 130-year anniversary of the Valley County Sheriff's Office. To celebrate, a new shoulder patch was created that symbolizes the identity of Valley County. Valley County Sheriff Tom Boyer|Sep 7, 2022

I want to address a rumor floating around Glasgow that says arrestees are being released from jail because of COVID and that the public is not being notified. This rumor is absolutely False! It is true that we have had a run of Covid in the detention center. We originally escaped the initial thrust of Covid in 2020 and were doing quite well with our procedures for cleaning and disinfecting. However, just like each of us, Covid caught up to us. Sheriff Tom Boyer, From the Sheriffs Office|Jan 9, 2019

Dear Valley County, As I sit at my desk this afternoon, the 31st of December 2018, to consider what might be important to convey to the residents of Valley County, I can not help but consider where we have come from. In a short time, I will be taking Retired Sheriff Vernon Buerkle home to drop him off.
