The Valley County Hope Project Festival of Trees 19th annual fundraising event was held on Nov. 17, at the Elks Lodge. Glasgow school students, staff and the community came together this past week to help raise funds to assist with the travel and medical costs for the Milam family. The Glasgow Bantams started off this season with 13 players for the annual Damon McLaughlin Tournament in Sidney. With only six practices under their belt, the players faced some strong competition against teams from North Dakota, Saskatchewan and Montana. Valley County is one of the 49 counties who have chosen to not follow a directive from the administration of Gov. Greg Gianforte by scaling back their collections of a state-level school funding property tax. These 49 counties will levy 77.9 mills of school equalization tax for 2023, as opposed to the full 95 mills ordered by the Montana Department of Revenue.
