  • 18th Annual Ice Fishing Derby This Saturday

    The catch of the day is worth $2,000 this weekend. That's what the winner gets Saturday at the 18th annual Ice Fishing Derby at Dredge Cuts Pond in Fort Peck. Last year David Combs took home the cold hard cash. The tournament runs from noon to 3 p.m. Registration on site is 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., but you can sign up before that by contacting the Glasgow Chamber of Commerce & Agriculture.     The Scottie girls (4-4, 6-10) occupy fourth place in District 2B before closing their regular season with home games against Poplar (0-8, 5-11) on Friday and Wolf Point (6-2, 12-4) on Saturday. Last week it was a 58-33 home win over Harlem (1-7, 3-13) on Friday and 53-38 road loss at Plentywood (5-3, 9-7) on Saturday for coach Jon Kolstad's team.     The Eastern B-C Divisional awaits on Saturday in Shepherd. It's the ultimate measuring stick so far to see how far the reinvigorated Scottie mat program has come this season.
