The Glasgow Area Chamber of Commerce & Agriculture held their 24th Annual Ice Fishing Derby this past Saturday at the Dredge Cuts Trout Pound. Jaxsen Diesen, a 9-year-old from Miles City, caught the tournament winning fish on his grandfather Joel Reagor's hole. He snagged a 0.48 lb. rainbow trout at 12:16 p.m. for the $2000 first prize. The Glasgow girls basketball team improved their overall record to 10-6 this past week with wins over Glendive and Scobey. Thursday the Scotties downed the Red Devils 46-27 in Glendive. Glasgow defeated the Spartans 36-27 in front of a home crowd Saturday evening. Glasgow shut out Glendive in the first quarter while scoring 11 points. Nashua's boys basketball team, back to full strength after battling illness and injuries, notched their first two wins of the season this past weekend. The Nashua girls basketball team added two more wins to their record this past weekend with strong fourth quarter performances over Frazer and Brockton. The Porcupines defeated the Bearcubs 49-39 Friday in Frazer and followed that with a 56-37 win over the Warriors Saturday in Brockton. The Canadians may have brought their "Eh" game to the Northeast Montana Fair's rodeo this year, but Montanans claimed the most number of top spots. Colter Barnett, of Fort Peck, raced away with the top slot in the Maah Daah Hey 100 MTB Race in the 25 mile competition. The 17-year-old placed first overall in the race with well over 100 competitors. He also won in the male 13-19 category. Scottie softball star Davyn Myrick signed with Scottsdale Community College in Arizona to continue her sports career at the collegiate level on July 27. The 2021 Glasgow High School graduate will be playing corners and any other positions she can fill for the team.
