The Glasgow School Board met in regular session on June 12 in the district board room. All trustees and school administrators were present except Superintendent Bob Connors. Three GHS athletes were recognized for their state track championships: Ellis McKean, Emily Kolstad and Brett Glaser. The Scottie wrestlers are peaking at the right time. Heading into the state meet after an exceptional divisional showing, the potential for individual hardware is high, if not a certainty. Josie Braaten, a 2015 graduate of Glasgow High School, has been running competitively since her seventh-grade season as a Scottie. This past weekend, the now-college senior wrapped up her 10th and final season in the sport, running for the Mavericks of Minnesota State University at Mankato. Braaten represented the Mavericks at the NCAA Regional Meet held in Joplin, Mo., on Nov. 17. The Scottie cross country team joined hundreds of competitors at the state meet in Missoula on Oct. 20. Runners from all classes converged on the University of Montana Golf Course on what turned out to be a beautiful fall day. For class B, the girls were scheduled to run first. The Scottie cross country team finished up their regular season of competition at the Harlem Invitational on Oct. 13. With a clean sweep of the meet for both the boys and girls, it was a nice way to end the season. Although both teams performed well, a change in the venue may have affected their overall performance. The Glasgow Kiwanis Swim Team competed in Conrad at the state swim meet Aug. 4 and 5. Going into the weekend, the team was seeded sixth in the class "A" division. In their second double-header of the week, the Glasgow Reds hosted the Billings Blue Jays on June 27. The Blue Jays finished the night winning both contests.
