The old saying goes, “If March comes in like a lion, it will leave like a lamb.” Here in northeast Montana, it is just as likely for the opposite to be true, as is the case this March of 2024. The month started with relatively nice weather for this time of year, and was fairly warm and dry. The Hi-Line Hyzers hosted their second tournament of the season at the Fortress Disc Golf Course on Aug. 19 in Fort Peck. This tournament consisted of two rounds of 18 holes. The Hi-Line Hyzers Disc Golf Club out of Glasgow held their second PDGA sanctioned tournament at The Fortress Disc Golf Course (Fort Peck) on Saturday, Aug. 20. The tournament was titled the Top Tier Open as Top Tier Disc Golf out of Billings was the primary sponsor for the event. On September 25, 2021, a group of 27 disc golfers from around the Montana and North Dakota region converged upon Fort Peck and the area's newest 18-hole disc golf course, The Fortress. Area resident Kevin Vogel hosted and directed the first ever Hi-Line Hyzers Fall Fling disc golf tournament at Centennial Park in Glasgow on Oct. 10.
