The Glasgow Reds hosted the Richland County Patriots in a double header at Sullivan Park on June 12.
Kevin McDonald and Chase Guttenberg teamed up on the mound to deliver a shut-out in the first contest as the Reds defeated the Patriots 11-0, with McDonald earning the win.
Glasgow had seven runs in the third inning with singles by Darrin Wersal, John Cremer, Tel Aune and Keagan Thompson. Thompson led the team with three hits in five at bats, finishing the contest with two RBIs and one double. Aune and Kaden Fossum brought in two runs, while Cremer, Noah Lipszyc and Wersal brought in one each. Lipszyc had the only stolen base for the Reds in the game.
McDonald pitched five innings, allowing three hits and striking out four. Guttenberg closed out the game, allowing one hit and striking out one.

In the second game of the double header, Richland County denied the Reds another shut-out early in the game when they brought in a run in the bottom of the second inning. It would be the only run for the visitors and the game ended with the Reds on top 13-1.
Kristian Price was the winning pitcher, working the entire game on the mound. He surrendered one run on three hits over six innings, striking out ten and walking one. He faced 22 batters and threw 81 pitches in the contest.
The Patriots could not contain Glasgow's offense as they allowed 13 runs on nine hits and 13 stolen bases. Thompson led the Reds in stolen bases with five followed by Bryce Legare with four. Also stealing were McDonald with two and Aune and Cremer each with one.
At the plate, Thompson had another good showing, hitting one double and bringing in two runs. McDonald hit a ground ball to right field for a double in the Reds' first at bat of the last inning, and eventually crossed the rubber at home to score the last run of the game. Gavin Adkins brought in three runs and hit a double line drive to center field in the top of the sixth inning.
Also recording RBIs in the game were Cremer, Legare (2) and Lipszyc.
