Flaten Bros. Kick Off Cat Circuit with a Win

The 2018 Montana Cat Circuit kicked off May 12 with the 12th Annual Yellowstone Challenge. The tournament, which is based out of Huntley, boasted 49 boats on Saturday.

Local angler and catfish enthusiast Brenner Flaten partnered with his brother Jason of West Wendover, Nev., to reel in a record-breaking 35.68 pounds of the whiskered mud cat. According to Flaten, 33 teams weighed in over 20 pounds on a four-fish limit for the day and the top three teams broke the previous tournament record of 33.09 pounds of fish caught.
