Leon Palmer Bergan

Leon Palmer Bergan, 85, of Great Falls, Mont., passed away Saturday, March 10, 2018.

He was born on Sept. 25, 1932, in Scobey, Mont., to Palmer and Lydia Bergan. He joined the United States Navy and served during the Korean War, he then served for 33 years in civil service.

He was a member of the Elks, Eagles, VFW, Moose and Senior Citizens' Center. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, float trips, packing into the Bob Marshall Wilderness, pool, cards, camping, getting firewood and woodworking.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Ronnie, Eugene and Terry; two sisters, Jeanette and Ella Mae; and a grandson, Brandon.

He is survived by his wife, Marie Bergan of Great Falls; two sons, Robert Bergen and his wife, DeDe, and Scott Bergan and his wife, Kitty, both of Great Falls; one sister, Toni Flannery and her husband, Phil; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, March 19, at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel in Gt. Falls. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 20, at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel. Burial will take place on Friday, March 23, 2018, at 2 p.m. at Highland Cemetery in Glasgow.
